Do we really need a Vevo site? Can’t we just go to Youtube to watch music videos? What would make Vevo special and worth visiting? Below are some ideas that would turn Vevo into a success.

High Quality Videos - At the moment the only site that has good quality videos is MTV. All othes are usually quite poor. If Vevo would offer great video quality it would stand out from the others and people will notice the site quickly.

A lot of content - To be successful Vevo would need a lot of content. The content of just Universal Music probably won’t be enough to make the site very successful, so they probably have to join forces with their competition. It might sound not possible, but most big TV networks teamed up with Hulu, so why wouldn’t that work in the music industry.

Voting - It would be great if Vevo would get a voting system where the users decide what videos are good and which are not. Maybe something like a Digg system, so that the users could vote on the quality of the music and the videos. This way Vevo could generate links to the best rated videos, but also the most watched videos, which would be like a next-web music chart, informing the world about the top songs at any time.

A community - Vevo needs to be interactive. Users need to be able to comment, vote, rate and interact with other users. If Vevo wants the users to keep coming back allowing them to interact is a must.

Embedding - Vevo will need to embrace its users. A great way to do that is by allowing them to embed the music videos on their own websites. Usually the music industry is not really getting the web, but they will find out soon enough that embedding will be a must to make the site popular.
